Accessing Print Management in Windows 2008 R2 (allows access to Server Properties in Windows Server)

In Windows 2003 and XP, you were able to access the “Server Properties” of the print spooler with the “Print and Faxes” section in the control panel. In Windows 2008 R2, you will need to enable Print Management on the Windows OS before you can access the Server Properties. To do this you will want to use the following steps:

#1: Print Server:

Print Server is a role service that installs the Print Management snap-in. Print Management is used for managing multiple printers or print servers and migrating printers to and from other Windows print servers.

#2: Print Management:

To open Print Management on a computer running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Print Management. (best to right-click and run as administrator)

#3: Expand Print Management and either use tree view or right click->properties on domain listing.
