Sharp intermittently prints a blank page with Post Script errors on the top left of page

August 11, 2010

Below (at the very bottom) is a sample of the error that is printed. The exact message may vary.  It may also print a blank page and a page with this error on the top left corner of the page.

If using a PS driver, Right-click the Sharp in Printers and Faxes (Devices and Printers for Windows 7) > Printing Preferences > Advanced > In the PostScript Options section: Uncheck the "PS Error Information" check box (see image below).

Note:  If installed and shared from a server do the following: Right-click the Sharp > Properties > Advanced > Printing Defaults > Advanced > Uncheck the PS Error Information box.

Note: You may need to verify that you are using a PS (Post Script) driver. Go to Printers and Faxes (Control Panel) or Devices and Printers (Windows 7). Unless the Sharp was renamed, verify it ends with PS. If it ends with PCL6 or PCL5e, or PCL5c this will not apply.  If you cannot see PS, PCL6, etc, right-click the Sharp printer > Properties (Printer Properties for Windows 7) > Advanced Tab. If it shows the printer ending with PCL6, or PCL5 this will not help solve the problem.
